Caffe Monza Ayr

Back at the end of 2017, we opened a branch of Caffe Monza in Ayr town centre and it turned out to be the best decision we ever made. Situated on the south west coast of Scotland and famed for its seaside, golfing and horse racing, Ayr is a fantastic and vibrant town and we are proud to say we have settled in fantastically! Planning on visiting us soon? Check out the below for inspiration on where else to go in the surrounding area.

Wallace’s Monument

Situated in Craigie, South Ayrshire, the Wallace Monument is a stunning example of gothic Scottish architecture. Built in 1857 to commemorate the heroism of William Wallace, the monument still stands proudly for visitors to appreciate. So if you fancy a patriotic excursion to awe at a beautiful example of Scottish history, don’t forget to pop by to see us at Caffe Monza after!

Robert Burns Birthplace Museum

Visit “the birthplace of a genius” at the Robert Burns Museum and Cottage. Explore the birthplace and family home of the famous poet Robert Burns, one of Scotland’s most respected historical figures. This traditional cottage was restored by the Alloway Burns Monument Trust in 1881 to showcase the early life of Robert Burns and today visitors can see how the Burns family would have lived and where he would have encountered his first poetic inspiration. Not only that, the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum hosts several poetry events throughout the year for all ages – so there’s always plenty going on.

Ayr Beach

If you’ve ever lived on the West Coast of Scotland then chances are you’ve flocked to Ayr Beach at the first sign of summer. Ayr Beach is a beautiful location offering stunning views of Ailsa Craig and the Isle of Arran. One of the country’s most popular beaches, it’s also a wonderful spot to enjoy a Caffe Monza takeaway picnic! You can enjoy a fun day by the sea as well as keep the whole family entertained with a visit to Pirate Pete’s Family Entertainment Centre next door which offers an indoor soft play, mini golf and laser games.

Craig Tara Holiday Park

In need of a place to escape? Craig Tara Holiday Park offers families and friends private caravans to hire and enjoy a well-deserved staycation. The park is situated just south of Ayr providing a prime location for trips around the local area. The holiday park is also situated right next door to Heads of Ayr Farm Park, a fun park with bumper boats, electric tractors, trampolines, quad biking and animals and another fantastic day out for the whole family!

Brig O’Doon

The Brig O’Doon, sometimes called the Auld Brig or Old Bridge of Doon, is a late medieval bridge and iconic landmark in Ayr. With its picturesque cobbled path and the gorgeous Brig O’Doon House right next door, the picturesque bridge passes over the River Doon and is the perfect area for a relaxing stroll in the countryside. Don’t forget, once you’ve soaked up the beautiful scenery to head towards Caffe Monza Ayr for something delicious!

Culzean Castle

Culzean Castle is a 17th century cliff-top masterpiece overlooking the Firth of Clyde which offers free daily guided tours around its stunning grounds and buildings. The grounds have mapped trails so that once you’ve taken in the beauty of the castle itself, you can take a stroll around the impressive castle grounds. The castle also boasts a fantastic ‘lego game’ for the little ones, which keeps them entertained as you take in the grandeur of every single room. Pay a visit and you’ll see why Culzean Castle is considered a dream wedding venue for so many budding brides. The grounds also boast a fantastic purpose built adventure playground for the kids!

Dunure Castle

The castle hunting doesn’t stop there, with the ruins of  Dunure Castle offering a unique and picturesque experience. Dunure Castle perches on a rocky promontory on the Carrick coast which overlooks the Dunure harbour. Take a brisk walk up to view the rugged castle structure before heading back to town for a well earned refreshment at Caffe Monza!

Electric Brae

Defy gravity at the optical illusion that is Electric Brae, otherwise known as Gravity Hill. On this hill freewheeling cars will appear to move uphill as opposed to down. Amaze the kids by taking the car up to this unique must-see Ayr attraction!
